Freemed-YiRC: User/Group Calendar Module Help Page

Contents

Summary

Main page for the User/Group Calendar system.

Navigation

Displayed on this page is a visual representation of one calendar month displayed as Sunday through Saturday.

Calendar Months

Above and below the calendar are navigation options to allow quick movement to other calendar months.

Above the Calendar Month

Above the calendar is a link which reads Today. Clicking on that will always bring the user to the current calendar month. Below the Today link it will display the name and year of the calendar month being displayed.

To the left and right of that are angle brackets: <, <<, >>, and >.

  • The first is a single, left-facing, angle bracket: <. Clicking this will take the user one year in the past for the same calendar month. I.e., if the current calendar month a user is displaying is February 2008, and this link is clicked, it will take the user to February 2007.
  • The second is a double, left-facing, angle bracket: <<. Clicking this will take the user one month in the past. I.e., if the current calendar month a user is displaying is February 2008, and this link is clicked, it will take the user to January 2008.
  • The third is a double, right-facing, angle bracket: >>. Clicking this will take the user one month in the future. I.e., if the current calendar month a user is displaying is February 2008, and this link is clicked, it will take the user to March 2008.
  • The fourth is a single, right-facing, angle bracket: <. Clicking this will take the user one year in the future for the same calendar month. I.e., if the current calendar month a user is displaying is February 2008, and this link is clicked, it will take the user to February 2009.

Below the Calendar Month

Below the calendar month are a link for the previous calendar month, the name of the current calendar month, and a link for the next calendar month. This is similar to the double-angle brackets (i.e., << and >>) above the calendar month display, but the month names are displayed.

Calendar Days

Each square/cell on within the calendar represents one calendar day.

At the top of each square/cell is a number representing a given day. By clicking on that number, a user can create a new calendar event for that date.

Next to the number may be the letter P. If this is available and is clicked, it will bring up a printable reports menu.

For versions of Freemed-YiRC after V1.20 there will be an N. This stands for notes. By clicking on this, a user is able to enter/edit generic notes for that date, which will show up on the visual calendar at the bottom of that days square/cell.

If the user is looking at the current calendar month, then the current day will have it's number (and the P and N, if applicable), displayed in BOLD and surrounded by square brackets.
