Freemed-YiRC - Modules

Freemed-YiRC is a modular information system (software). At it's most basic level, Freemed-YiRC is simply a menuing system. It provides the user a series of menus to help them navigate to where they need to go. The real power of Freemed-YiRC is it's large library of modules. A module is set of software which expands the functionality of Freemed-YiRC. For example, Freemed-YiRC is capable of providing an internal e-mail system through the E-Mail module. The most basic core of Freemed-YiRC does not provide E-Mail services, this is done through the module.

Using this approach (i.e., being modular) provides Freemed-YiRC with a very high level of both expandability and flexibility. Individual modules can be added (or removed) quite easily. And modules can also interact with each other. For example, the vast majority of the modules in Freemed-YiRC make use of the Contact Database module for information relating to people. That way, certain types of information can be centralized, which improves efficiency and reduces redundancy.

You can find the complete list of available modules in Freemed-YiRC by taking a look at the Freemed-YiRC Modules List.
